EXPERT WITNESS - DELAY DURING CONSTRUCTION 42 STORY LUXURY HIGH-RISE IN LOS ANGELES

Problem received:
In the construction of a high-rise building in Los Angeles, a court case ensued after a dispute. A delayed event occurred, and the Builder filed a builder’s risk and delay start-up insurance claim. The dispute occurred when the entitled delay was questioned by the Client.

The Process and Solution:
Dr Hendrik Prinsloo was instructed to provide an expert report including a detailed analysis of the delay event. This report had to include the impact on the project. All the relevant information was sourced from the client and builder. By using 3 of the most common delay analysis methods, a clear easy understandable report was drafted.

The Benefit:
The use of industry best practices assisted the client as the courts decided on the methods used by Dr Hendrik Prinsloo. The opposing counsel did put forward a different methodology and outcome for the delay period and influence on the project.
